Membership Eligibility

  • Any public or nonprofit private or charter school that teaches students in grades pre-k through high school between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. These schools must provide in person instruction in all the core curriculum subjects, including ELA/literacy, math, science, health/PE, history/social studies   and other core subjects.

 

  • Nonprofit Preschool programs, including Head Start are eligible if they meet the following criteria:

    • The primary purpose of the program is to prepare children to attend kindergarten. The program must focus on teaching the children the core subjects listed above for academic success.

    • The program is not simply providing day care services to preschool aged children.​

    • The program serves children from ages 3 up to 5 years.

    • If the program shares space with another organization or program, the supplies obtained at 3Rs may only be used in the preschool classroom during regular preschool hours. For example, if the preschool is housed in the same building as a community center, the supplies may not be used for other programs sponsored by the community center, including after school care.​

Programs not eligible for membership to the Teacher Store*:

 

  • Adult Education programs

  • After school or summer/ vacation programs

  • Home school individuals or groups

  • Sunday Schools

  • For profit institutions

  • Programs that operate exclusively online

  • Any “school” or group that does not teach the full curriculum listed above

*If your organization is not eligible for membership to the Teacher Store, you are still welcome to shop in the Recraft, Recreate & Reuse Center, which is located in the same building.

I love how ruth's encourages me to be creative in thinking of lessons and how to use materials for kids to make art with! Its so fun to meander and dream up art lessons in Ruth's!

Membership Applications

If you are renewing a school’s membership or applying for a new membership for an eligible school, please fill out:

 

Once completed, please email your membership application to: teacherstore@ruths.org.

If you are not sure whether your school is eligible for membership based on the guidelines above, please contact us before submitting an application.

 

NOTE: If you are registering as a whole district (as opposed of individual schools), please submit the DISTRICT application form below. 

The Teacher Store will open for the new school year on Saturday, August 17, 2024. Memberships must be in good standing prior to any teachers/staff shopping.

 

Memberships are considered active when 3Rs has received the following: 

1. Completed application form. Please accurately fill out all information. These statistics are vital for us to have when.we apply for grants to obtain funding in order to continue and to improve 3Rs.

2. Check or Purchase Order for the full membership fee. The fee for the 2024/2025 school year is $3.75 per student or a minimum of $650 if there are 173 or fewer students enrolled at the school.

3. Staff List, including first and last names, title or position, and grade(s) and subject(s) taught. We require this information in order to determine individual shopping eligibility.

 

We understand final staffing decisions are often not made until late in the summer or even early fall. However, we ask that you provide your current list so we have something to work off of by opening day.  Staff lists can be updated as frequently as needed throughout the year.
